Taster Weekend FAQ's
We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions to give you the answers to the most common issues. Please check them out below...
When is the Taster Weekend?
The Early May Bank Holiday weekend - this year that is the 29th April, 30th April and 1st May
What age range are the activities for?
Disc golf is suitable for all ages, tobogganing is just for children aged 4 - 12 and all our other activities are age 8+ (snowboarding requires a size 2 shoe and at least 120 cm tall).
Can I book multiple activities
Of course, try as many as you can fit into the weekend! Just be careful with the locations as they are not all at the same sites so make sure you leave yourselves enough time to travel between locations
Where are the activities then?
Climbing tower, climbing, abseiling, air rifles, skiing, snowboarding, disc golf and half the archery sessions are at the Mendip Activity Centre
Caving is at Burrington Combe
Kayaking, assault course, raft build and half the archery sessions are at our Hewish site
Is there parking?
There is free parking at all 3 locations
Can I buy food and drinks?
If you are at Mendip Activity Centre we have a fully licensed cafe-bar on site and will also have a BBQ on the go
If you are at Hewish or Burrington Combe, please take your own refreshments.
What happens if it is raining?
We will go ahead in all weathers, so a waterproof is always a good idea! We have been really lucky with the weather for the last few years so are keeping our fingers crossed!
What shall I wear?
We will send out a kit list with your confirmation email but for most activities we would recommend old clothes that you don't mind if they get a bit muddy! If you are kayaking, canoeing or raft building, a change of clothes and a towel is a good idea. If you are skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing, you will need to be wearing full length sleeves, full length trousers and a pair of full fingered gloves. Sturdy footwear is recommended for all activities.
